Element of Natural and Built Environment - ENBE

Introduction to Elements of Natural
 and Built Environment (ENBE)

Environment means everything around us nature is the most important thing on it.We have to build our environment but not by destroying the nature because if we do that we destroy our life and future. For saving our environment we have combine nature with our buildings and don't allow people to forget nature...

Introduction to Elements of Natural and Built or ENBE teach us the elements that we need to learn for building environment and also it understands us how important is nature.

Infographic subject: Benefits of Nature

For this project all students in  their groups experienced real nature and what they required to do was choosing a site do site analysis, take pictures, sketches and many other things to know more about nature and at end we should prepare infographic boards about animals and plant plus a group video about our experience in nature. As individuals we should research about one animal and one plant in the site that we had chosen as groups and them ue informations on infographic boards, beside that all students required to prepare a power point slide about their researches and experiences.

For this project we all went to reverstone for experiencing nature, site visit and exploration (2 days).

We gathered at the university and went to reverstone with 2 buses.
When we arrived and they gave us some information and short brief about what we had to do, then we started choosing site and exploration until afternoon and after that we had so much fun in river. After all we were very tired so we took shower and changed our clothes, then we had to made a logo of our group with different kind of leaves and...,after that we got our first project for ICI and some advice from our lecturers.
Next day we got back to our site to explore more until noon and after lunch we packed our things and came back to the university.
It was a real experiencing nature which was very useful and enjoyable and also hard because the weather was too hot there were no air-con and very low facilities which it is how we should experience nature, but at the end it was very disappointing to see pollution in that very beautiful nature and I hope one they we will understand how important is nature. The most important outcome of this project was understanding importance of nature and its role in our life and environment.

ENBE the journal 1:Conservation

I have learnt how conservation is important and what we can do to save our planet and how we can compensate the damages that we caused. We should start caring about earth individually and expand it in our family, country and... .We have to conserve for the future, so we have to transfer this thing one generation to another.

ENBE The Journal 2: Symbiotic Relationship in Nature

This TJ was all about symbiotic relationships in nature and important role of every single part of nature in this relationship. My research in this journal about symbiotic relationship was about different types it and specifically about symbiotic relationship of bird's nest in trees which for me as a student  in natural and built environment course was so interesting. I've learnt many things from this journal and I realized that how awesome and also important is this symbiotic relationship in nature, specially in built environment.

ENBE The Journal 3: KL Site Visit and Capturing Public Spaces

For this TJ which was related to our final ENBE project we required to go to KL and capture public spaces for better understanding of this subject-matter in a city. I choosed to go to KLCC and its wonderful park and public spaces, but for this site visit we all required to go there by train, so I started my journey from KL Sentral and use LRT to reach KLCC which was interesting. After capturing public transport, I arrived KLCC and I went to the park straight away. In KLCC park I took a lot of photos beside going through details and understanding elements of public spaces which was a great experience an I have learnt a lot from it.

                                ENBE Final Project
The final project of elements of natural and built environment for this course (FNBE) is all about elements of a city for the future and the situations that will happen in few years later makes us to think about building new cities, and different from the cities that we are living in currently.

In this project students are required to imagine that the year is 2033 and they are the mayor of the “X” city (they are required to choose a name for the city). They as mayors know a secret about the city and they know that the city is no longer safe to live in, so they have to prepare a proposal for the new city. First, students need to create a situation for their city which make it not safe to live, and then find the best solution to build a new city depend on the problem . They have five options, they can build city underground, underwater, floating on water or enhance the city and after they choose the option. They have to start research, sketches, etc to prepare the proposal of the city and after that students must choose one city within their units and make a model of it and present it to lecturers.

This project acquaints students with elements of natural and built environment and they understand how to analyze different situation and symbiotic relationships that they need to consider in natural and built environment.

The Video

As I have chosen to become a quantity surveyor in the future, this project really helped me to understand about cities infrastructure.

When we choose to enter in construction industry, in fact we are entering in a very huge project to build and shape cities by being part of this project, so we need to learn about elements of building environment and all the things that we have to consider for a city and these are the things that I have learnt in this project.  Building a city is not that easy and there are so many things in a city that people don’t know about them and they never go through details of the city they live in to understand how their city work, I also didn’t know much about cities, but after this project everything in the city is interesting for me.

After all I think we must start thinking about future cities, how do we want them to look like? What kind of things we have to consider? What kind of problems will we have? And many other questions, to choose the best for shaping ours and future generation’s life.

The group part of this project was a very exciting experience and me as the leader experience a lot of new things. This project was mostly about Architecture but for me as a QS student I've learnt many new things about group projects and leadership. And finally all of us enjoy it specially our lecturers.
